This small Hebrew Bible is bound in a so-called concertina binding. It belonged to the Danish collector of books Peder Scavenius (1623-1685), who had a taste for rare and remarkable books. His was one of the collections of books which was incorporated into the library of King Frederik III in the 1660’s, and so this book was part of the oldest Royal Library.
